| The village |

No more than an hour and a half from the cities of Barcelona and Perpinyā, Peratallada still has the silence and appearance of a medieval village that seems as if it still belonged to those times. In only a few kilometres we go hundreds of years back in time.
Peratallada declared as historic and artistic, keeps its antique feudal aspect with the fortified castle and tower and palace, murals and Romanic church. We also find the large moat, surrounding the village, excavated to the original rock.
As Josep Pla said when speaking of Peratallada: "The noble stones are impressive and are not forgotten easily". It is also impressive that, besides the amount of visitors that come here, Peratallada has kept its rural aspect. The everyday life of the people that live here merges perfectly with the tourists and those who are just here for a short stay.
So on one hand we find restaurants, shops, hotels and hostels, and on the other, allotments, animals, worked land, the rice fields full of water in the spring, the birds singing in the evening... All these small things are the most beautiful things to discover.
